Our City now

This is one of the commissions I was asked to do for a book... it features a post Apocalyptic City overtaken by Zombies.
As many of you know I love the darker side of art {as long as it has a fun twist to it}
so this one was right up my street { no pun intended}

Spotlight on Anne

Anne Bronte sister to the famous Charlotte and Emily also wrote novels and poetry.
Her story of Agnes Grey was about her own experience as a governess, she also wrote The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. She died of TB at age 29yrs.
I love the wild Yorkshire moors and spent days hiking and getting lost when I was a kid.
On Sunday 26th I will fly back to Yorkshire to visit my family and hopefully hike some more as well as get some photos {misty and spooky ones I hope ]
I will be back May 10th

Curiouser and curiouser

Another one for my Dark Alice series.
I had this in my head for a while but I could never find the right cottage, finally Gothic Bohemian-stock on DA put one in her gallery http://gothicbohemian-stock.deviantart.com
The back ground is from http://umbradenoapte-stock also on DA.
The head is one I did in DAZ3D a while ago and the arm and legs I drew with my pen tablet.
I was pleased with how it turned out

Cottage in Blue

It was a beautiful day here in Gibson's Landing I think spring really has arrived at last
I took my camera for a stroll on the beach there are lots of cottages on the waters edge that are usually closed up in the winter.
I added some filters to this shot to give it an ethereal look

I'm Here !

This piece was done for a challenge on Art on the Dark side, the theme was a cross.
There was no way I could not have a Zombie in this piece, so here it is coming out of the ground.

It's all about you !

Are you coming up here or what ?
Rapunzel was not the most patient princess!

The collection

I,m not sure what this is all about really, it has dark undertones but to what end ?

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

I recently found my long lost stash of Grateful Dead records.
So now I can drive every body nuts !
Just thought I would create a trippy spider.

Transformer

I used my son Ameer as a model for this one. I always liked the movie Invasion of the Bodysnatchers where people are taken over by alien lifeforms while they sleep.
So this is the start of that process.....

Lunch Time Line up

I spent the afternoon at the local dump with my #3 son taking photographs { it's really nice that he likes to go to strange places too! } There is lots of interesting things like rusty fridges piles of chairs and twisted metal to take pics of for use in my art. my son is a real pro at photography and always comes up with cool images.
But I got this shot of Bald Eagles and Turkey Hawks lined up waiting for the next dump truck to arrive

Deep in the Forest

I often wonder what an elves house might look like.
We have some huge old growth forest here in the Pacific Northwest, so after taking these photos I transformed them into tree house for little people

Virus

Ever wonder what a computer virus looks like?....well take a look at this guy, he eats firewalls for breakfast!
Actually its just a macro shot of a flower bud with a little bit of work from me

It's Alive

Nothing is safe once I get going with my digital manipulations.
This piece started out as a Macro shot of a seed pod until I added some filters and tubes to make it into an Alien that has just woken up from hyper sleep.
Anyway I think it works.

The Spooky Carousel

Sometimes when you go deep into the forest you will hear strange music,
If you dare to venture further you will come across this strange carousel spinning around and around.
As you approach it will slow down for you to climb onto one of the strange horses.
But beware......once you sit down the carousel will never stop to let you off.

Never ending

This is for Challenge #9 on Artarazzi http://artarazzi.blogspot.com
My immediate thought was how uncomfortable her dress looked even though it was glamorous too.I could imagine the fashion photographer saying " just one more shot" when all she wants to do is get into her 'jammies' and relax.

Not Funny anymore

This image was done for a challenge at Art on the Darkside about evil/bad clowns link
I have to say that since I was a kid I have had a bit of a fear of clowns { no real reason} and I have met some very nice people who entertain as clowns too.

I just discovered http://www.artonthedarkside.blogspot.com so I entered it on there for one of the challenges
